LEGISLATIONS
The Act is designed to provide a broad framework which allows employers and employees to be flexible in their approach to achieving the standards set in the legislation. The substantive legislative provisions are limited to stating objectives and general duties and providing the machinery to establish a framework for standards development and enforcement. Like the Act itself, Regulations impose obligations that must be complied with and that are enforceable when contravened.
